I embarked on a research journey into the concept of the Sublime—an aesthetic category of Romanticism that defines the feeling of attraction and pleasure towards something that could potentially destroy the observer. I found my own sublime in the area of the Campi Flegrei, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, around the volcano, and in the region of Pozzuoli, known for the Solfatara Valley, famous for its geysers and fumaroles. Moreover, this is where my parents were born and raised, despite the fact that I have always lived in northern Italy. Thus, this journey also became an ancestral search for my origins, allowing me to connect directly with the land of this region, where my grandmother came from.
In 2019, I realized an edition of 20 copies self-published book with the help of Chippendale Studio.
