✶ about ✶

I am a human being living and working in Bologna, Italy.

After classical studies, I explored photography for several years, initially at Spazio Labò, where I completed the course with a workshop led by Michael Ackerman at the Pratt Institute in New York. I continued my studies at Fondazione Fotografia Modena (now Fotografia Modena Arti Visive), where I won a scholarship for, and in 2018, an artist residency at the Geidai University of Fine Arts in Tokyo, where I’ve been tutored by Tokihiro Sāto. I further explored photographic bookmaking through several workshops with Witty Books in Turin and Yogurt Magazine in Rome.

Afterwards, I enrolled in an MA in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology to gain tools to support my research and understand social phenomena related to contemporary issues. I graduated with top honours, presenting a thesis in Medical Anthropology about the role of facilitators or guides in personal support contexts using psilocybin in the Netherlands, which is legal in truffle form. I have also written about psychedelia for Vice and memecult, curating a dedicated column for the latter.

As a queer and transfeminist person, I am particularly interested in gender studies, especially feminism and sexuality, the dynamics related to the crisis of capitalism, the climate emergency, and psychedelics.
Currently, I’m working as a photographer, digital retoucher, and street host for Nottambula, a project for the Night Plan of the Municipality of Bologna aimed at creating a more livable and safer city for everyone, focusing on harm reduction, conflict management, and more. In the meantime, I’m into the potential of psychedelic substances and experiences from a transfeminist perspective, aiming to protect native knowledge and oppose the commercialization of these insights and substances, preparing a PhD proposal.

My research explores the unknown, especially new ways of thinking about the future, combining the ethnographic tools of anthropological research with photography, contemplating new ways of studying the world and living on this planet.
